About Us

Butterknowle Primary School is a welcoming and vibrant village school where every child is known, valued and supported to achieve their full potential. Our school has three well-resourced classes, allowing children to benefit from high-quality teaching and strong relationships with staff. Children of different ages learn and work together successfully, developing confidence, independence and a strong sense of responsibility towards one another. Through an ambitious curriculum and a wide range of enrichment opportunities, we help pupils develop the knowledge, skills and character needed for future success.
