About Us

Welcome to Hamsterley Primary School!
We are a small, two-class primary school located seven miles north-west of Bishop Auckland.

In November 2025, we federated with Butterknowle, Frosterley, St John’s Chapel, Wearhead, and Woodland Primary Schools to form the Durham Dales Partnership. Together, we work closely to provide an exciting, broad, and balanced curriculum for our pupils. Teamwork, collaboration, and outdoor learning are key elements of our federation ethos.

Our aim is to inspire pupils, foster a lifelong love of learning, and deliver a high-quality education for every child. At Hamsterley Primary School, we value parental involvement and take every opportunity to engage with families and the wider community.
